Dr. Whitmer discusses Utopian Communities in Germany

Dr. Kelly Whitmer of Sewanee's History Dept. will give a talk in both German and English at the German House. Her title is "Utopie und Aufklaerung in Halle/Saale" or "Utopia and Enlightenment in the City Halle on the Saale." Dr. Whitmer has been studying utopian communities in Germany, one of the most famous of which was the Franconian Foundations in the 18th century in the East German city, Halle, where Georg Friedrich Händel was born.
