B.A. Williams College; Ph.D. University of Michigan
Ariana Orozco received her B.A. in Comparative Literature from Williams College and her Ph.D in German Languages and Literatures from the University of Michigan. Her dissertation, “Memory in Contemporary German Prose by Jenny Erpenbeck and Judith Schalansky,” argues that in selectively foregrounding memory, material culture, and narrative aesthetics, Erpenbeck and Schalansky nuance the memory contests surrounding German reunification.
Her publications, research, and teaching focus on contemporary German literature, memory, material culture, museum studies, gender, popular culture, and transnational German studies.
